This track was the final track written for the album and the best example of whats to come for the project. It started as a very stoned guitar oriented loop that I would drum over for hours.
I'm proud of a the time signature changes of the chorus. It keeps you quessing, but still has a pulse to it.
There is no bass guitar on this track, because I wanted the treble to really shine through. The sax and gtr are slightly out of tune from another, but I enjoy the tension it creates
in the song.
Lyrically, this song was written while I was homeless living behind Glens Market in Petoskey in my van, which eventually broke by the beach. I wanted the bridge to be about making love to a lake.
lyrics
Pardon me for addressing, but I feel like it's depressing as midget wrestling
That the thermostat has icicles on it, know what I’m saying.
"I believe that checkered table Sundays are best spent outside, away from traffic jams, deadlines, phone calls and road signs."
-Deanna Wiltse
I am just chemicals now and so are you.
Now I’m learning with honesty comes retaliation.
To encapsulate your misery into an atomic weapon
How am I supposed to re-prioritize my life when your vacant slaying sleeping dragons
You always said communication was a two way street.
So get off the sidewalk and walk with me.
Poverty Pasta
As I rudely stared inside the empty black sky my emotions could no longer hide
As the stars began muttering to me.
So busy trying to subside
Let’s meet in the place we've always dreamed of
