This was the very first loop I ever made. Orginally it was written to be an Anchors For Reality song, but the band broke up and I used it to start my solo project.
Listen carefully to the introduction, there are a couple of interesting sounds to pick a part.
I used a modded telephone, a gift courtesy of Mountains For Clouds a super good band from Midland, MI. On top of that is a Boss PH-3 phase shifter (my fav pedal). And the bottom layer is an acoustic guitar that literally has an sm-57 stuck inside of it, through a voicebox
modulator.
The final bridge of this song was meant to be a completly separate loop, but was glued into the song last minute. I felt the producer Andy did a superb job doing so.
Lyrically, this song is meant to be about frustration. Knowing that you have the abilibity to choose a better life for yourself, but deciding not to because it's easier at the time.
lyrics
"I'm vonerable, dishonest, kicking down the closest.
I think I found a piece of myself, and then I lost it."
-Megan Ruth Wilkins
Is there a past, present or future?
Because presently I am delegating morality.
I know that this will be the greatest mistake that you have ever, ever, ever made.
Basically, I’m patiently cultivating complacency
While I try to be more than a skin tarp, than a bag of bones
Broke across this country I roll.
It's not weakness or greed; it's a loss of all positivity
Plaguing me
